Jim Nixon, Founder and Executive Artistic Director
Jim Nixon founded Broadway Bound Children's Theatre after moving to Seattle, from Hollywood, in 1996. As a performer in New York City, Jim appeared in over one hundred plays and musicals both on and off-Broadway. He received three off-Broadway awards for his work in The Living Room starring and directed by John Marley, My Fathers House starring Henderson Forsythe and for his starring role in The Holy Junkie, which also played to rave reviews at the Edinburgh Festival in Scotland. Jim trained with Lee Strasberg, at The Actors Studio; Alan Jones, for musical theater; Twyla Tharp and Luigi, for jazz; and with ABT, in classical ballet. He has guest-starred on 14 network TV shows and starred in several pilots including Thunder Boat Row, Single Dad, Peepers and Topper with Tim Curry, directed by John Landis. He starred in and was executive producer of the cable show Locals. He was a regular alien on Alien Nation, the TV series and played the choreographer on the NBC television series Life Goes On. He was a writer and series regular on Fox TV's hit series Totally Hidden Video for four years and performed the same duties for two years on King World's The New Candid Camera, with Dom Deluise. Jim played Lt. Conor on the TV series The Fugitive. Jim has appeared in a dozen feature films, most recently starring in The Adventures of Galgameth for director Sean McNamara. |
